Girls: The Complete Sixth Season


HBO why do you do this to me? First with Sex And The City and now with the Girls. You get me hooked on a phenomenal show, have me fall in love with the characters and then you pull the rug out from under me. Over the course of five years, I’ve come to enjoy Lena Dunham, Jemima Kirke, Allison Williams, Zosia Mamet, Adam Driver, Alex Karpovsky, Andrew Rannells and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. Girls is shot in New York and the series finale aired on April 16, 2017.

One of the many great things I love about the Girls is that it’s filmed in the concrete jungle. There’s a bit of comfort seeing New York City streets, the City that never sleeps brings allure, mystery, and constant excitement. There wasn’t fluff, crazy adventures in the finale, the final episode brought you back to life, reality sinks in. Shot in the suburbs, Lena Dunham is at her mom's house raising her baby, bitterly I might add, with her friend Allison Williams who plays Marnie. Marnie at first is a little off, more like psychotic for breaking into her house and sneaking into her bed, but in the end, she proves to be an asset to Lena.

The outstanding HBO comedy series created by and starring Emmy nominee and Golden Globe winner Lena Dunham, and executive produced by Judd Apatow and Jenni Konner, is continuously fresh, riveting and is the most buzzed about show on TV. Season 6 brings us closure, fans can keep up with the “Girls: The Complete Sixth Season” which is available for Digital Download and on Blu-ray and DVD July 25th. What I loved about Girls, the characters portrayed real life people, some we know in our own lives and others we see in other people's lives. If for one second you say you can’t relate to any of the Girls, then that means you’re one of them or have certain traits. The Girls, portray this generation pretty spot on, from working out, getting a tan, the sun setting and rising to our every whim and sense of entitlement running strong. One of the things I appreciated that was portrayed authentically, when we graduate college and are trying to conquer the real world, we first live in a small, cramped apartment without a view. We’re constantly obsessing about work, how much we’re making and when we’ll get promoted. Love is what we hope for, something we try to find, we look long and hard for it and truthfully it doesn't come to fruition for everyone. Life doesn’t come with a pretty bow, not all Girls are size zero, perky and perfect and that’s when things get messy or complicated but self-love, confidence and having good friends comes in. We build each other up, experience life together and most importantly we laugh, cry and get into all sorts of shenanigans with the ones we trust the most. If you're thinking why did I love this show, no matter how crazy things got, their jokes were hilarious. What I do know, life doesn’t bring happily ever after to everyone, learn to love the messily ever after, it's just as, if not more so, beautiful, fun and exciting. Girls you will be missed, thank goodness for DVDS!
